Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) PAGE
BELOW
IS A LIST OF SOME OF THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS TO ME. PLEASE
TAKE THE TIME TO READ THROUGH THIS SECTION AS IT MIGHT ANSWER SOME INITIAL
QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS YOU MIGHT HAVE.
Q.
Can you send me a paper catalog?
A.
Due to the belief that if you don't need to use paper, you shouldn't,
I do not have a paper catalog. I do believe that a more practical solution
in today's day and age is the Internet, where because of changing stock
and the selling of pieces, you are able to get the most up to date view
of my arrangements.
Q.
Where do the butterflies come from?
A.
Most butterflies come from the lush tropical rainforests and are harvested
from government sponsored butterfly farms. This produces a viable income
for the Indigenous people of the region and allows them to save their
land by reinvesting in it rather than selling it off. If you want to learn
more about it, please read a detailed explanation on the "About Our Butterflies"
page.
Q.
Once ordered, how long before I receive my custom arrangement?
A.
Due to the custom nature of butterfly and various nature arrangements,
it generally takes between 10-14 days before your wonderful arrangement
is shipped. Preparing for shipping itself usually takes approximately
1 full day as packing and preparation are key to you receiving your order
in the beautiful condition it was shipped.
Q.
Are there other options for displaying my beautiful Arrangements?
A.
Of course. I aim to please, and making a custom table top or free standing
piece, or placing hanging hooks in just the right place so you don't see
them is par for the course. Of course special projects can also be ordered,
but generally just specify if you would like a table top or hanging piece.
Q.
Speaking of custom displays, Do you make custom arrangements and special
order pieces? Is the size of the piece an issue?
A.
Yes, we not only have made large custom pieces, but our collectors often
order special order pieces in a color or particular butterfly. If it is
not in stock, we take a 50% deposit and order the butterflies you want.
Size to me is not an issue. We can cover an entire wall with panels of
acrylic collections creating any look you would like. Pricing depends
by specimen and size, so it's impossible to give an exact range. Custom
orders usually begin around $600.00. Email us at customflights@dliteflight.com
Q.
Why are the antennae and bodies removed on the butterflies in acrylic?
A.
The antennae are removed due to the possibility that they will break off
inside the box ruining your display. Although it may not happen in the
beginning, we believe people collect our displays for viewing and over
time the antennae usually do come off. Furthermore, all of the morpho's
must have their bodies removed because they contain a toxin that will
destroy the wings over time.
Q.
How do I clean the D.Lite Flight acrylic cases?
A.
This is a very good question!! You can immediately ruin the acrylic cases
by using Windex type ammonia based products and paper towels. Use a cleaner
specially made for acrylic and a soft cotton cloth. Try to get an acrylic
cleaner spray at your local hardware store.
Q.
What is your return policy?
A.
All genuine butterfly items are final sale. They are too fragile to send
back and forth. Since they are pieces of original art, most are created
as they are ordered. Please look carefully at the pictures before you
order. They are very good representations of what you will receive. Mother
Nature creates our butterflies, allow for her slight differences, please!
If an item comes damaged, please contact us immediately and keep all packing
material. A return authorization number will be given to you. Any defective
items will be picked up by the delivery company we used. I sign every
piece with pride!!
Q.
Is there any special instructions I need to follow to insure the long
life of my D.Lite Flights beautiful collector display arrangements?
A.
With proper care and maintenance, your displays and your butterflies will
last for many many years. If you have a specific question, please feel
free to email me at info@Dliteflights.com
Q.
Dalia, can I resell your wonderful collectibles in my own hometown or
store?
A.
Of course there is nothing I would love more than to have the ability
to have a greater audience view and appreciate my work. It truly is a
labor of love. Please remember though that once pieces are purchased from
me, they are custom and original and become the sole property of the client.
I will support all my resellers and store owners with special signed pieces
and pictures of myself creating those special pieces. Purchasing one of
these pieces creates a special bond between the owner, myself, and nature,
and I love that. Please send all inquiries to me at Dalia@Dliteflights.com
Q.
Dalia, Do you sell some of your wonderful sketches and artwork?
A.
Presently I do not sell them on-line, but I do sell some special pieces
and have donated the profits to a worthy environmental charity. If you
have some ideas and would like to share them with me, such as a favorite
charity for the special piece you purchase, please email me at Charity@Dliteflights.com
Q.
What happens if you run out of a particular butterfly or special part
of nature that you use in your displays? Are there defective butterflies?
A.
If you have ordered something and I run out of that item, I will not charge
you until I have discussed the matter with you and if you decide not to
purchase a piece at that time, you will not be charged at all. Certain
items I do run out of occasionally as these are not man-made items, but
part of nature in all of its glory and imperfections. Please note that
I do whatever is possible to insure that what you see on my site is what
is available, but I will never sell you something you just don't want.
Collecting is a life long affair, and I am here to help you along that
journey. Just let me know of any special requirements or needs, and I
will do my best to make that come to fruition. Remember, these are originals
and there will be imperfections from nature from time to time. That is
not a mistake, but part of the beauty and serenity of the arrangement.
